WELCOME

Welcome to my website.
Here's a guide to some of the different sections of the site:

Demos: This section contains audio clips from, and information about, the different groups I perform with. Also included are a few solo clips.

Compositions: This section is mainly audio clips of some of my musical compositions in different styles.

Articles: This section consists of educational material I've put together and may change from time to time, so be sure to check back occasionally if you find anything useful here.

Recordings: This section contains audio clips of commercially available recordings of mine and links to purchase them online.

Confessions of a Stupid Guitarist: Part one of this section is an essay I wrote in the summer of 1996 concerning my frustrations at the time with finding my own musical voice. Since posting this here, I've been amazed by the number of responses I've received from people who have grappled with the same problems. Surprisingly, just learning that the majority of other musicians struggle with these issues helped me resolve much of the angst I expressed in this essay.

Confessions Part 2 is 2004 update of my experiences with these same problems and includes some ideas and suggestions for developing one's own voice, dealing with stage fright, etc.

8-STRING PAGES

Here's a section for all of you with 8-string guitar questions like: "Why are the frets all crooked?" and "What exactly are you trying to compensate for with the extra strings?"

    FIU Audition Information:
A new page giving audition information for students wishing to audition for FIU's jazz guitar program.
